Engine 44 is a 1981 E-one engine assembled on a GMC C7000 chassis. It is powered with a GM 8.2L Diesel Engine. This “mini-pumper” was an idea 4 -wheel drive engine for navigating the many “Subaru goat trail” like roads of the Fairbanks area back in the day to fight wild-land as well as structural fires. Engine 44 is now retired.
